I, Medusa

Before reading this book, I never saw Medusa as anything more than a monster. And after reading it, I cried for and with Medusa, her family, and her sisters.

The problem with Greek mythology is that the gods and demigods get all the glory, and everyone else gets flattened into a footnote. Medusa was no exception. But Ayana Gray does a great job of telling Medusa’s story. You fall in love with her, you realise she was wronged in so many ways, and you find her beautiful rather than a cautionary tale or a scary nightmare.
